With Shelly devices, you can maintain control even when your internet connection is down or unavailable. The Local Network Control feature in the Shelly Smart Control app allows you to operate your devices over your home Wi-Fi network, without relying on the cloud.
Enabling Local Network Control
To activate Local Network Control in the Shelly Smart Control app:
Open the Shelly Smart Control app.
Navigate to Settings → App Settings → Local Wi-Fi Network Control.
Toggle "Use Local Network Control when available" to ON.
Once enabled, your mobile device will communicate directly with your Shelly devices over the local network, bypassing the need for an active internet connection.
What Works Without Internet (When Local Network Control is Enabled)

What Doesn’t Work Without Internet
Some features are cloud-dependent and require an active internet connection. These will not function with only local access:
Cloud-based Scenes and Automations
Remote control from outside your local network
Cloud statistics and history
Device sharing with other users
Push notifications and third-party integrations (e.g., Alexa, Google Home)
