Motors working with Shelly Wave Shutter

Modified on Thu, 8 Aug at 4:02 PM

The Shelly Wave Shutter and the Shelly Wave Pro Shutter can work with motors that are directly connected to it. For the connection, the motor needs two wires for Up and Down, and a third wire connected to neutral. If there is a fourth wire, it is likely the earth wire.

Example of the motor that will work with the Wave Shutter:

Motors with any electronic components, aside from end limit switches, will not work properly with the Shelly Wave Shutter. This is because the device won't be able to accurately monitor the power usage.

Example of the motor will not work with Wave Shutter:

If the motor does not have end limit switches and lacks any other electronics, it can still be set to work with the Shelly Wave Shutter by configuring Parameter 74 (up time) and Parameter 75 (down time). These two parameters must be set after accurately measuring the time it takes for the motor to move the attached roller blinds from fully down to fully up and from fully up to fully down.

For detailed instructions on configuring these parameters and additional information on compatibility, please refer to the Shelly Wave Shutter knowledge base.
