If you're having trouble adding or seeing your Shelly device in Alexa, Google Home, or SmartThings, there could be a couple of reasons for this issue. Follow the steps below to identify and resolve the problem.

There are two primary reasons why your Shelly device may not show up in your smart home platform:

  1. The Device is Not Cloud Enabled
  2. The Device is in the "Hidden Devices" Room

1. Ensuring Your Shelly Device is Cloud Enabled

The integration with Alexa, Google Home, and SmartThings relies on cloud-to-cloud communication. Here’s how to enable cloud for your Shelly device:

Steps to Enable Cloud on Shelly Devices

  1. Open the embedded web server of the shelly device by typing its IP address in the browser.
  2. Navigate to Internet&Security->Cloud->Enable Cloud -----> FOR GEN 1

Click on the cloud icon at the top and then click on "Enable". ----> FOR GEN 2/GEN3

2. Checking if Your Device is in the "Hidden Devices" Room

Sometimes devices end up in the "Hidden Devices" room by mistake, making them hard to find. Here’s how to check and move your device if necessary:

Steps to Move Your Device from the "Hidden Devices" Room

  1. Open the Shelly Smart Control APP or the web version - http://control.shelly.cloud
  2. From My Home Panel, go to All devices and then filter "Hidden Devices" Room devices
  3. Locate Your Device: Ensure the device you’re looking for is listed in this room.
  4. Move the Device:
    • Select the device.

    • Click on Pencil Edit Icon and move to the proper room

  5. Save Changes: Confirm and save the new room assignment.

Re-discovering Devices in Your Smart Home Platforms

After ensuring the device is cloud-enabled and correctly placed in a standard room, you’ll need to re-discover the devices in your smart home platforms.
