Setting associations of the Wave devices in Homey

Before adding associations, there are a few key points to be aware of
  • Associations between devices can only be established if those devices have been included in the gateway using the same encryption method (S2, S0, or no encryption).
  • It's important to note that once a device is removed from the gateway, any association linked to that device will be automatically deleted as well.

  • In the Home menu or the Device menu press and hold on the Device icon that you wish to add an association.

  •  Once the Device settings loads, select the Advanced Settings.

  • Proceed by scrolling down to locate the Associations section, where you will discover a list of potential groups available for selection to establish the desired associations.

  • Devices operating under Single Channel (SC) encapsulation will have Group 1 configured as (print screen above), whereas devices compatible with Multi Channel (MC) encapsulation will necessitate Group 1 to be configured as 1.1 (print screen below).

Before proceeding to the next steps, a small clarification is required. It is crucial to send the correctly encapsulated commands for endpoints or the root. Devices with multiple endpoints, such as the Shelly Wave 2 PM, Shelly Wave i4, and so on can only accept Multi Channel (MC) commands for the endpoints and Single Channel (SC) commands for the Root. Conversely, Single Channel devices like the Shelly Wave 1, Shelly Wave 1PM, .. can accept SC commands since they do not have any endpoints.

Setting Association from a MC device (endpoint 1, 2,..) basic on / off - Group (number depend from which endpoint you’re sending the command) to the SC device of the second device.

  • The association will be added, when you press the check mark in the Advanced Settings menu.

  • You will receive a notification indicating that the settings have been successfully saved and transitioned back to the previous screen.

  • If you wish to remove any association you have to remove the number of the associated device from the Group and confirm with the check mark on the previous screen.
