This documentation provides essential information about the operating temperature of Shelly devices. Understanding the temperature limits of your devices is crucial for their proper functioning and longevity.

Operating Temperature Ranges

Maximum Ambient Temperature

The maximum ambient temperature within which Shelly devices should operate is 40 degrees Celsius.

Operating Temperature without Load

Under normal operating conditions and without any significant load, Shelly devices typically maintain an operating temperature range between 55 to 60 degrees Celsius.

Operating Temperature with Maximum Load

When subjected to maximum load or intensive usage, the operating temperature of Shelly devices may increase. It is not uncommon for the temperature to reach 87 to 90 degrees Celsius under such conditions.

Heat Protection Mechanism

To safeguard the device from overheating, Shelly devices are equipped with a built-in heat protection mechanism. This mechanism is designed to automatically switch off the device when the temperature reaches a critical level of 95 degrees Celsius. This feature serves as a protective measure to prevent damage due to excessive heat.

Component Design and Certification

All internal components of Shelly devices are meticulously designed and engineered to withstand high temperatures. These components are certified for continuous use within a temperature range of 105 to 120 degrees Celsius. This design ensures the durability and reliability of Shelly devices, even when subjected to elevated temperatures.
