This document provides essential information regarding the operating temperature of Shelly devices. Understanding the temperature limits of your devices is crucial for their optimal performance and longevity.

Operating Temperature Ranges

Maximum Ambient Temperature
The maximum ambient temperature for Shelly devices should not exceed 40°C to ensure proper operation.

Operating Temperature without Load
Under normal conditions, whether loaded or unloaded, Shelly devices typically operate within a temperature range of 50°C to 70°C.

Operating Temperature with Maximum Load
When operating under maximum load or intense usage, the temperature of Shelly devices may rise. In such conditions, it is common for the temperature to reach between 87°C and 90°C.

Temperature Protection

Thermal Safety Mechanism
Shelly devices are equipped with built-in thermal protection software, which activates at 95°C to safeguard the device from overheating.

Heat Protection Mechanism
To prevent damage from excessive heat, Shelly devices are designed with an automatic shutdown feature. When the internal temperature reaches 95°C, the output is automatically switched off, providing protection to the device.

Component Design and Certification

All internal components of Shelly devices are specifically designed to withstand high temperatures. These components are certified for continuous use and are capable of operating in elevated temperatures, ensuring the durability and reliability of Shelly devices, even under demanding conditions.
