Sharing a Home with Other Users
The Home feature in Shelly Smart Control allows you to create multiple Homes within the same account and organize devices based on location, property or installation.
A Home can also be shared with another Shelly Smart Control user. The Home owner can select the appropriate permission level when inviting the user.
Shared users can access and control the devices and features included in the Home according to the permissions assigned by the owner.
Limitations for Shared Users
Users who have been invited to a shared Home cannot create:
- Rooms
- Groups
- Scenes
- Thermostats
- Alarms
Shared users also cannot add new Shelly devices to the Home.
These actions must be performed by the Home owner. After the required device or feature has been added, the owner can manage the shared user’s access through the Home-sharing settings.
Why can’t a shared user add or create something?
Receiving access to a Home does not provide the same administrative rights as owning it. Some configuration and creation options remain restricted to the Home owner, regardless of the other permissions assigned to the shared user.
