Connecting Shelly Matter-Compatible Devices to Apple HomeKit application

This guide walks you through how to set up your Shelly Matter-compatible devices (Shelly 1 Gen 3, Shelly 1PM Gen 3, Shelly 2PM Gen 3,Shelly  Mini 1 Gen 3, Shelly Mini 1PM Gen 3 / Gen 4) with the Apple Home app.

NB: Matter hub is required.  We do not offer Matter hubs. 

 

Steps to Connect Your Shelly Matter Device

1. Open Apple Home App

  • Make sure that your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi where matter hub is added
  • Launch the Apple Home app on your iPhone or iPad.
  • Tap on the + button in the top right corner.
  • Select Add Accessory from the options.

2. Scan the QR Code

  • Locate the Matter QR Code on the device packaging (for GEN 4 devices, it's on the box and an included sticker can be attached to the device itself).
  • Alternatively, you can find the QR Code via the device's WebUI:
    • Navigate to the Matter tab in the WebUI.
    • Retrieve the QR Code from there.
  • Use your phone's camera to scan the QR Code and proceed.

3. Follow HomeKit Setup Steps

Once the QR code is scanned, follow the standard Apple HomeKit setup process:

  • Select the home where the device will be included.
  • Assign a room for the device.
  • Set up a name for easy identification.
  • Define the appliance type (e.g., light, switch, plug, etc.).
  • Complete the setup process as guided by HomeKit.

4. Finalize the Setup

  • Your Shelly Matter device will now be connected and available in Apple Home.
  • You can now control and automate the device within the Home app or via Shelly Smart Control.

Your device is now successfully connected and ready to use!
